From the very beginning, National Socialism understood cultural policy as a central instrument for consolidating its power. Through a coordinated cultural life, the regime's ideology was to be disseminated to the farthest corners of society. This applied not only to the visual arts, architecture, and literature, but also to music. The range includes HJ songs, film hits, "new German classics," and even a jazz orchestra commissioned by Goebbels.
