In recent years, working with traumatized individuals has gained increasing interest within psychotherapy. New neurological and neurobiological findings indicate that different therapeutic approaches are necessary for these patients. New therapeutic directions and methodological approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), imagery techniques, and stabilization work have thus become essential tools for working with trauma patients. Music therapy, however, has been given little consideration in current trauma research, and within the field of music therapy, this development has only recently been addressed. The contributions in this volume therefore discuss the circumstances under which music can be used beneficially in trauma therapy, while also highlighting potential limitations. Contents include: H.
