Richard Nikolaus Count von Coudenhove-Kalergi was one of the most important visionaries of Europe in the twentieth century. From the end of World War I until his death in 1972, he tirelessly advocated for European unity. He sought contact with the key politicians of European countries, wrote countless articles and books, and traveled across Europe, all with the aim of seeing his European concepts realized as soon as possible. However, the most important instrument in his commitment to Europe was the Paneuropean Union, which he founded and was the first European movement ever.
