The development of problems related to social behavior, impulse control disorders, and an increased tendency towards aggression begins before birth. At the same time, these disorders are very common during childhood and adolescence and often have negative effects. If left untreated, behavioral disorders can lead to unpredictable psychosocial consequences and significant persistence in adulthood due to dissociality and delinquency in adolescence. There is also a tendency to view this patient group as largely untreatable and therapeutically problematic because they disrupt the therapeutic setting or negatively impact the treatment of other patients. This current volume of the Bernese series presents the causes, developmental pathways, genetic and social influencing factors, as well as intervention possibilities in therapy and social pedagogy, thereby laying the groundwork.
