As a child, Urs Schaub spent all his school holidays with relatives on a farm. His own family lived modestly in a drab neighborhood of the city, and his father's once infectious laughter gradually faded as he worked as a laborer in the chemical industry. On the farm, there was a baroque, little universe of colorful characters: a beautiful and gentle aunt, a grandfather who knew stories, a strong farmhand named "Müsli," whose real name no one could remember, and who placed marriage ads, or Lina from the village, who collected everything and visited the old aunt to share silent moments in the kitchen. Last but not least, there was the beautiful cousin with black braids, who unfortunately had a crush on the city. Drawing on these experiences, Urs Schaub tells wonderful stories of childhood happiness and the lessons of childhood far from the city.
