The account of the woman who provided for Anne Frank and her family in their hiding place, kept them safe long before their deportation, and yet could not save them. Miep Gies became known primarily as the woman who saved Anne Frank's diary. She cared for the Frank family in their hidden apartment and was the last survivor from Anne Frank's circle. Only she was able to recount what happened at that time. Anne Frank's diary and her account represent two perspectives of shared fear, the same horror, and common hope.
