The interdisciplinary volume aims to illuminate the topic of mysticism from a literary, philosophically intercultural, and theologically interreligious perspective. It particularly focuses on a cross-epochal engagement with the question of the relationship between mysticism and literature from the Middle Ages to the present day. Within this broad framework, special emphasis is placed on the systematic, perspective-opening encounter between literary studies, theology, and philosophy.
