Product details
Ji Zhang addresses the experiences of sustainable residential building renovation in Germany and discusses their transferability to China. While the renovation of existing residential buildings in Germany is already well developed, it is still in its infancy in China. The author first provides a brief overview of the framework conditions in both countries, then analyzes 31 outstanding renovation projects in Berlin, broken down into five aspects: energy, water, greenery, building materials, and attractiveness. Through energy simulations of a reference building and discussions, Ji Zhang examines the applicability of the measures implemented in Germany to the Hot Summer Cold Winter Zone in China.
