Smiled at with disbelief by some and perceived as an extremely intense experience by others: naked hiking. Moving in a group without clothing is becoming increasingly accepted. The author provides valuable insights into the history of naked hiking for newcomers and those interested, and discusses the complexities of legislation, as German laws do not specify that one must, and especially how, to hike "dressed." However, it should always be kept in mind that being clothing-free in nature can lead to an administrative offense (described under § 118 as "disturbance of the public"). Therefore, the tips and advice in the book by Conrad Stein primarily assist newcomers who wish to experience this sense of freedom while hiking.
