The anthology brings together various perspectives on the topic of dialect and how it can find its place in education. Contributors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Tyrol present research projects and results, initiatives, and fundamental considerations from their regions. The range of topics spans from dealing with regionally vibrant dialects in various teaching and learning contexts to the revival and establishment of underused dialects. The contributions provide insights into the current engagement with Bavarian, Swabian, Alemannic, and Low German. The aim is to collectively contribute to the development of dialect pedagogy despite regional variations.
