National Socialism - hardly any other term has as many meanings as this one. The term was claimed by minorities of all political currents during the Weimar Republic from 1918/1919 to 1933. It is characteristic that no one succeeded in fully claiming it for themselves and gaining interpretive authority, which is why it is so difficult to establish a universally valid definition or description of the phenomenon. In research, the discussion usually focuses only on individual aspects. The contributors change this by examining all socio-political actors from the church to the parties for the first time, thus providing a comprehensive overview of the national socialisms of the Weimar Republic.
