Hardly any other reptile is as popular among terrarium enthusiasts as the bearded dragon, Pogona vitticeps. Its success in the terrarium hobby is largely due to its interesting appearance, engaging behavior, and calm, very trusting nature. Its close relatives, such as the black soil bearded dragon (Pogona henrylawsoni) and, although much rarer, Mitchell's bearded dragon (Pogona mitchelli), are also gaining popularity.
