Product details

With documenta 13 (2012), the theme of nature has once again come into focus in contemporary art. From traditional genres, forms of artistically shaped fields of perception have emerged, which convulsively entangle their audience and negotiate nature in relation to technology and media, civilization and culture. Hans Dickel examines selected works by Olafur Eliasson, Andreas Eriksson, Rodney Graham, Tue Greenfort, Carsten Höller, Roni Horn, Pierre Huyghe, Amar Kanwar, Carsten Nicolai, Simon Starling, and Diana Thater, among others, and connects them with the model of the Anthropocene as well as with the sociologically grounded, French tradition of nature conceptualized by Bruno Latour.
