How can the quality of life of people with dementia be enhanced through contact with the natural environment? Person-centered, development-promoting, and stress-reducing environments have long been an integral part of good care for people with dementia. Increasingly, the natural environment, including animals, plants, and time givers, is being utilized to maintain and enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals with dementia. At the same time, green and white professions are collaborating more frequently to apply their health and environmental knowledge for the benefit of people with dementia.
