In Hot Air Engines VIII, the Stirling principle is described in detail and in an easily understandable way using 11 different hot air engines. Now, we present the engines that the author has designed and built since then. However, the main focus is on the two-cylinder Stirling engines, of which the last two are now available as drawing sets. Externally, these engines bear little resemblance to a classic Stirling engine, yet all operate precisely according to the good old Stirling principle. There seem to be two preferences: one favors machines with as many moving parts as possible, while the other prefers simpler engines with an elegant appearance. The author aimed for a straightforward design in the two presented two-cylinder engines, resulting in the very smoothly running boxer engine and the quite powerful V-engine. Definitely worth replicating!.
