Additionally, Berlin attracts numerous artists as a place to live and work, who often consciously settle there and connect with like-minded individuals. It is well known that the Brücke group shifted its center from Dresden to Berlin. In the literary field, one should especially remember the Neopathetische Cabaret and the Neue Club around Kurt Hiller. Furthermore, important publishers for expressionism, such as S. Fischer, as well as new foundations, were based in Berlin and played a central role.
