Even today, the princess enjoys a prominent position that originally stems from a feudal system. As a social figure and cultural representation, she has managed to transition into the bourgeois age. It is very clear that the definition of a social figure depends on relationships and distinctions from others. In this case, being a princess results from a dynastic relationship: a princess is the daughter of someone, and her status is therefore always inherited, not acquired. The latter should ideally put her in conflict with bourgeois ideals; nevertheless, the princess often appears positively connoted even in the bourgeois age.
