The book reconstructs the scientific image of life and humanity and identifies the significant differences between this image and the model of Homo oeconomicus, which contemporary economic theory presents as the authoritative scientific representation of humans. At the same time, it confirms the philosophy of the Enlightenment, particularly Kant's, in that it also did not view the foundation of human autonomy in egocentrism, but rather in the (cognitive as well as emotional) ability to coordinate one's own perspective with those of others.
