The Power of Life Renewed

Translating "matriarchy" as "rule of mothers" falls short, as the power of mothers is not based on having power, but on the effectiveness of their being, on their life-giving force. The maternal order, which is many tens of thousands of years older than the patriarchate that has only been dominant for a few thousand years, is grounded in the cycle of life that renews itself repeatedly. In his book, Lothar Beck describes the symbols and archetypes of the maternal order, which extend into early Christianity and also present Jesus as the "anointed" one by women in a matriarchal tradition. However, looking back primarily aims to open a new perspective on our present: What are the characteristics of a matriarchal societal structure, and how can we move towards a value-creating circular economy, interconnected thinking, and the principle of consensus? This book is a passionate plea for the "maternal" values of nurturing, caring, and sustaining, for the reclamation of "being power" by women, and for the initiation of men into the laws of life.
