Even though Marx's thought is currently experiencing renewed philosophical interest, it often remains unclear what this interest precisely entails. Under the influence of the Feuerbach theses, where Marx calls for the transformation of the world, the genuinely philosophical dimension of his thinking has often been overlooked in favor of an interpretation focused on the upheaval of economic and political conditions. It was not until the 20th century that the original connection between Marx and philosophy was restored. The ambiguity of Marx's relationship with philosophy and philosophy's relationship with Marx is reflected in the diversity of contributions in this volume. These contributions address both fundamental questions of Marx's philosophy and the philosophical discussions surrounding Marxism.
