Modern grief support is taking new approaches. It starts earlier than has been customary and aims to prevent the need for therapy. It does not focus on so-called phases of the grieving process, but rather on the specific tasks that those in mourning need to manage. The tasks of the bereaved are used to derive the tasks of the support. The book presents six tasks of contemporary grief support and specifies them with practical case examples. One emphasis is on the pastoral care during the farewell at the deathbed.
