Product details
The present study aims to investigate the relationship between Amos and Isaiah based on the texts of the books of Amos and Isaiah. It examines not only the historical figures of Amos and Isaiah but also the relationship between the two books. Thus, the perspective on the perception of the prophetic books is broadened in its diachronic layering. The study arrives at a conclusion that deviates from previous research, largely negative: No references to Amos can be substantiated for the historical prophet Isaiah, and there are hardly any intertextual references observed in the subsequent literary history of the two books.
