Product details

Since the publication of O. Keel's book "Yahweh's Response to Job" (1978), the concept of the "Lord of the Animals" has entered Old Testament exegesis as a hermeneutical category. However, its substantive determination depends on its placement within the phenomenology of religion or the iconography shaped by ancient studies. Accordingly, the applications to the Old Testament yield different results. Therefore, this work explores the origin and ambiguity of this concept and reflects on whether and what hermeneutical relevance can be attributed to the "Lord of the Animals.".
