One percent of the world's population suffers from schizophrenia - this may seem small at first glance, but it is put into perspective when compared to other conditions. For about one third of those affected, it leads to long-lasting severe limitations in the psychosocial domain. These limitations correlate with the degree of cognitive impairment.
