Do philosophers always have to be right, even when they write? No, answers Martin Seel: They do not have to, if they are free to play with ideas without fear of the adventures of the arts. This book illustrates how this is possible from the perspective of a semi-fictional, semi-real character, the one who is writing it, in three rounds. The first explores ways to escape the compulsion to be right. The second indulges in these diversions in a fireworks display of thoughts and images. The third tells the story of how the author became someone who does not want to be at peace with himself. Thus, on the narrow line between philosophy and literature, a philosophical and literary attempt unfolds regarding the relationship between both forms of writing and their place in the rest of life.
