In Erfurt lives an old man who learned to stand tall in two dictatorships. He doesn't like to talk about it, as he is too modest. This man had already taken many risks as a teenager before 1945: together with four friends, he produced leaflets titled "Down with Hitler" and was imprisoned for it. He narrowly escaped the death penalty by sheer luck. The man is over 90 years old and is named Karl. The graphic novel "Down with Hitler!" now tells his story for the first time.
