The silent echo of the tide ... can you hear it? Skylar always wanted to be more than the silence of her body. Cast out from her community, she sets out to find her missing brother and finds work aboard a ship whose crew could not be more foreign to her. The strange language of the sailors and their completely incomprehensible culture intimidate her. The reappearance of the black ship, from which she had to hide throughout her childhood, also presents her with a mystery. Nevertheless, she begins to see herself and her sea-covered world differently through the sailors' stories. Her storm-driven journey ultimately leads her to an inhuman place where she says goodbye to the man she loves. However, in her attempt to build a new life, she encounters a web of lies and silence.
