Product details
In October 2017, the results of a German study on "insect populations" were published, which had collected data over 27 years. Conclusion: More than 75 percent loss of biomass in flying insects! However, wild and cultivated plants depend on the pollination by beneficial insects, and flying insects provide food for numerous bird species. The decline in insect populations thus impacts biodiversity in both flora and fauna. Modest but effective contributions to preserving biodiversity can include wildflowers, hedges, and natural areas in gardens, as well as bee-friendly flowering plants on balconies, which create habitats and food for these six-legged creatures. There is even room for insect hotels on the smallest balcony of an urban apartment. Our ecosystem needs the busy buzzing insects: insect hotels help them survive!.
