At the beginning of the 21st century, two remarkable developments are emerging: On one hand, we are confronted with economic, social, and ecological problems that can only be solved globally. On the other hand, a worldwide movement is quietly growing, operating without hierarchy and ideology, and spontaneously doing what is necessary for a more sustainable and just life for people. Although this movement is only occasionally recognized by politics and the media, it not only brings forth what may one day be regarded as the greatest transformation of human society, but also daily tests the model of a cooperative and tolerant humanity that is viable for the future.
