Nietzsche questions everything. His thinking is one of the defining intellectual experiences of modernity. Consequently, the attempts to respond to this thinking and the person behind it have been and continue to be diverse. What can remain of one's own beliefs in light of Nietzsche's insight that all beliefs are prisons? This book aims to explore the various roles Nietzsche plays in such different fields as literature, visual arts, religion, and politics to this day. To achieve this, it will be necessary to develop an independent understanding of his thought that emancipates itself from the popular buzzwords commonly associated with Nietzsche, such as "will to power," "Übermensch," or "eternal recurrence of the same." The kaleidoscope of his consequences provides a new approach to Nietzsche himself—and to modernity. The second edition will be supplemented with the appendix "Fake Nietzsche: The Benefits and Drawbacks of False Nietzsche Quotes" as well as a register of names.
