Product details
After "Etwas Licht" (1999) and "Der eigene Tod" (2002), Péter Nádas presents two more volumes that document his photographic work. "Schattengeschichte" is dedicated to black-and-white photography and includes 150 images taken between the 1960s and 1990s: portraits, landscapes, and everyday scenes. "Lichtgeschichte" gathers works primarily from the years 1999 to 2004, including his previously little-known Polaroid works. They are accompanied by an essay on intuitive seeing, in which an elderly Japanese photographer bids farewell to analog photography. While "Schattengeschichte" is dominated by a documentary, narrative perspective, "Lichtgeschichte" explores the possibilities and limits of color photography: the subject is solely the light as it becomes visible in air and space. This is technically realized.
