Author's Note
Lisa Müller was born in 1992 in a small village in Baden-Württemberg. She says: "Here, people are decent, the front gardens are tidy, and the professions are respectable. My parents were quite honorably married, I was the first child, so everything was proper and well-mannered in the good Swabian way - unless you bothered to look behind the facade." The author chose prostitution at the age of 14, without any coercion and without a pimp. At 18, she exited and began working on this unflinching book.

Excerpt
"You may wonder if the men knew I was underage. Yes, of course they knew; no man can be that stupid not to see how old a girl is. Not a single one sent me away when he learned my true age; it only seemed to make them more eager. Men are like that, believe me.
You may find my lifestyle reprehensible. But you can believe me when I say there are more like me than you might want to think: those from completely normal families who do it voluntarily and for good money or have done so.
In that sense, my story is much more normal than you might believe. Do you know for sure if your daughter is not doing, would not do, or has not done something like this: sex for money? Perhaps even the young, pretty neighbor who always greets you so kindly, or the new apprentice at the butcher's shop in your nearby supermarket? Are you absolutely sure?
Believe me, even people who encountered me on the street back then, who did not know me, would not have come close to such a thought. I was the lovely, nice girl who always smiled sweetly, perhaps a bit too heavily made up."
Lisa Müller.
