The "Schrödter" has set the standard for a practice-oriented yet scientifically grounded application of the Building Code (BauGB) for over 50 years. The updated and expanded new edition takes into account the extensive reforms made by the legislator: amendments to the BauGB/BauNVO in 2017, changes to technical regulations (TA Noise, 18th BImSchV), the Water Resources Act (WHG), the Environmental Remedies Act (UmwRG), the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG), the Environmental Impact Assessment Modernization Act, and the Spatial Planning Act (ROG). The legal areas related to construction law are treated in detail and meaningfully integrated with the BauGB. Special attention is given to the connections between planning law and environmental law—particularly regarding emissions protection, nature conservation, water resources, and municipal law. The commentary also highlights the diverse options available to municipalities in urban planning and the conclusion of urban development contracts.
