Liability and reporting obligations can be seen as instruments for enforcing corporate responsibility for human rights. The contributions in this volume address numerous questions related to the two fundamental models of governing corporate behavior - the liability model and the transparency model. The first part delves into legal questions of liability, focusing on both the doctrinal justification and the precise design of potential corporate liability for human rights violations, as well as the allocation of liability within global corporate structures and supply chains. The contributions in the second part deal with the implementation of the EU CSR directive and illuminate its function for the activities of shareholders. Finally, the third part examines the relevant conflict of law issues.
