The radio is one of the most important information media overall. About three out of four Germans tune in daily, wanting not only to listen to music but also to be well-informed throughout the day. The study compares how the news from public and private broadcasters differs. The four market-relevant stations used as examples are Antenne Bayern, Bayern 3, Hit Radio FFH, and hr3. Through a quantitative content analysis, it was examined how the selected radio programs aim to meet the informational demands of their listeners. In addition to formal criteria such as length, topic, or the proportion of regional, national, and international reports, the presentation of the news also plays a role.
