Behavioral regulation and nudging are gaining increasing influence in policy-making. Results and tools from empirical behavioral research allow for a new approach to policy design: empirically grounded, verifiable, and behavior-based. Research and practical experience provide a foundation for political implementation. This volume focuses on applications of nudging in the field of consumer policy. We provide an overview of guidelines and classifications as well as actors and institutions involved in behavioral regulation. The volume outlines possibilities for concrete application at different levels and in various areas of consumer policy: finance, market and law, as well as energy and resources. Prof. Dr. Lucia A.
