Following the presentation of family and inheritance law, the presentation of property law is now available. In reverse order to the books of the Código Civil, Portuguese civil law is prepared for the German-speaking area. In several respects, the structure of this work deviates from the systematics of the Código Civil: For instance, the real security rights—due to their nature as real rights—are addressed in this volume, even though their provisions are found in the second book of the Código Civil, in the law of obligations. The same applies to "real" acquisition rights, such as real preferential rights and the pre-contract with real effect. Additionally, this volume introduces the fundamentals of real estate acquisition, even though the purchase contract and the purchase pre-contract for immovable property formally belong to the law of obligations.
