Noon documents the crossing of the threshold of doubt and ventures into the abyss of language. The painter and author Lisa Kränzler, after completing the manuscript of her major novel Coming of Karlo – working to the point of exhaustion – has given up her relationship and her previous place of residence. In Noon, she describes how she finds her way out of the crisis: by penetrating through it. Noon is an autobiographical novel, a diary, and a notebook in which the author combines stories, notes, and reflections. At the same time, the text is rigorously structured and shaped by the struggle for accuracy and form. The book impresses, as is always the case with Kränzler, through radical subjectivity and a language that is both vivid and precise.
