There is a wide range of preschool educational institutions with different ideals and goals. A relatively new approach in preschool education in Germany is the nature and forest kindergartens. In these kindergartens, children and educators spend their time outdoors, in the forest and nature; there is an emergency shelter for extreme weather conditions. The book aims to provide insight into the program and practice of this type of kindergarten. A weekly diary offers a glimpse into everyday life at the kindergarten, and a survey sheds light on the parents' perspectives.
