Product details

Another Pip and Posy story about the dramas of toddler life, created by Axel Scheffler, the illustrator of The Gruffalo, which has sold over two million copies worldwide. This is a picture book edition.

When Posy visits Pip, they have a lot of fun together before bedtime. But just as they turn off the light, disaster strikes: Posy realizes she has forgotten her favorite frog toy. Desperate to help his upset friend, Pip offers Posy a variety of different toys as substitutes for her frog, including his own favorite frog piggy bank. But none of them are good enough, "that's the wrong frog!" cries Posy. It is only when Pip gives Posy his own very special pig toy that she finds comfort, and the friends can finally sleep well.

Axel was born in Hamburg, Germany. He was good at art in school but didn’t think about a career in illustration until he won a cuddly purple cow in a drawing competition. In 1982, he moved to England to learn English and study illustration at the Bath Academy of Art, and then settled in London. Axel illustrated a number of books for various publishers, and in 1993, Kate suggested him as the illustrator for Julia Donaldson's first picture book text, A Squash and a Squeeze. This marked the beginning of an extremely successful partnership: their bestseller, The Gruffalo, has sold over three and a half million copies worldwide, and the TV animation aired on Christmas Day 2009. Axel has illustrated a number of other very successful books, including Muddle Farm, and his books have been translated into 42 languages. Axel lives in London with his partner and their young daughter.
