Georges Victor-Hugo is the grandson of Victor Hugo. He lives in the shadow of his grandfather, even in painting, which is his passion. Later, he is overshadowed by his own son, the versatile artist Jean Hugo. In 1915/1916, he participates in the battles in Champagne and presents the peak of his work with the album "Sur le Front de la Champagne" (1915/1916). Exhibited and published in Paris in 1917, it is shown for the first time in Germany as well. As a result of one and a half decades of work, the catalog traces the life and work of this unknown artist for the first time.
