The people of our culture are increasingly moving primarily in the sensory world. This one-sided development makes humans unfree. Only that which develops in our thinking as a driving force for our actions, independent of the external world, allows us to realize freedom. Folk tales, particularly fairy tales, can show us paths to a new way of thinking, whose practice serves not only the intellectual mastery of reality but also leads to the experience of reality. The hero in the fairy tale follows this very path, which ultimately leads him to his kingship. Fairy tales are deeply related to the anthroposophical path of education and are indeed very modern. I believe that fairy tales represent developments and maturation processes of human life and lead people to a meaningful goal.
