Directly on the Rhine, at the northeastern edge of the Novartis Campus next to the Dreirosen Bridge, stands the striking high-rise designed by Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron. It serves as the connection between the campus and the Rhine promenade. On the river-facing side, a public restaurant is placed, acting like a massive base for the soaring building. The Asklepios 8 structure effectively doubles the building height outlined in the master plan within a three-story volume that is clearly visible from the outside. Delicate, seemingly countless, staggered round columns create a shimmering effect on the facade. The building is also complemented by a work from the German artist Katharina Fritsch.
