In the heated atmosphere of the civil rights movement, students and activists march through New York. Black and white individuals who believe that a better future is possible if one is just willing to fight for it. Young black women travel to the South to fight against segregation, for equality and emancipation. They let their hair grow and discover new freedoms, both towards their fathers and their lovers. So much seems possible in this summer. They all dream of a world where life is not just black or white. And love? Does it really know no colors? Can it withstand reality?.
