The will that is revealed in Marx's early writings can hardly be conceived more comprehensively: It is not merely about the analysis of a specific form of society, a critique of existing conditions, or the design of a possible alternative. Rather, it is about the explanation of the world, and even more: about the creation of an entirely new world and a new human being. Everything that has come before is subject to condemnation; theory and practice are rejected. The dazzling light of the new, absolute truth illuminates the previous darkness and suddenly reveals that what has existed until now was merely the prehistory of the human species, which people accepted in their blindness. The actual history can now finally begin; it is the beginning of a new era. Such a claim must be taken philosophically seriously and examined for its validity.
