As if that weren't enough, after he writes a scathing review, an anonymous caller urges him to keep his opinions to himself in the future. MacDonald refuses to be intimidated and is soon assaulted. When the curry at his favorite Indian restaurant also turns out to be horrifically bad, the gourmet has had enough: he investigates to put an end to the criminals, as nothing less than the culinary culture of his hometown is at stake. He is supported by his Italian friend Alberto Vitiello, a lively guest house operator.
