Each year, there are approximately 30,000 new gynecological oncology cases in Germany, whose surgical treatment and care often require interdisciplinary collaboration. This need is addressed by the interdisciplinary team of editors and authors, consisting of gynecologists, surgeons, and urologists. Preoperative considerations regarding the necessity and planning of the procedure precede the step-by-step presentation of the surgical techniques. Both primary procedures and surgeries for recurrences are described in detail and with clarity. A variety of high-quality intraoperative photos and schematic drawings illustrate the interventions. Additionally, the current guideline recommendations are presented at the beginning of each organ chapter. Contributions on recurrence surgery, as well as reconstructions, plastic defect coverage, and complications, complete the work.
