Product details

Scientific studies have shown that the use of PV systems with energy storage is not financially viable with current technology. However, with rising electricity prices and advancements in energy storage, a profitable application of PV storage systems is forecasted in the near future. One way to improve the profitability of these systems is by optimizing the operational strategy of the energy storage. In this study, nine different operational strategies were examined. These were implemented and simulated in SimSES, a tool written in Matlab for simulating stationary energy storage systems. For this, a one-year standard load profile for households, a PV generation profile from Falkenstein in the Upper Palatinate from 2007 to 2012, and the parameters of a prototype of a local grid storage were used.
