Annemarie (Mieke) Matzke (1972) is a performance artist and theater scholar living in Berlin. Annemarie Matzke studied Applied Theater Studies at the University of Giessen. In her diploma thesis, she focused on Christoph Schlingensief, and in her dissertation at the University of Hildesheim, she explored role-playing and authenticity in contemporary theater. After working as a staff member at the Institute for Theater Studies at FU Berlin, she began her professorship in contemporary theater at the University of Hildesheim in the winter semester of 2009/10.
