Hubert and Huschl live in the garden of a weekend house. They watch as children greet their grandparents. "Isn't it nice to be welcomed like that?" Hubert asks. "Yes," says Huschl, "especially after being away for a long time." The two want to experience that as well. One goes, the other stays and waits. One has adventures, while the other nearly despairs. When Hubert and Huschl finally see each other again, they fall into each other's arms, sobbing with joy. "We'll never do that again," they decide. And if they do, they will both put on their rubber boots and explore the world together.
